The second day of the quarterfinals of the World Cup, Canada faced the popular team Slovenia. Canada beated Slovenia with 100-89.
The Slovenia team was led by the NBA Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić.
Slovenia faced the best lineup with the Canadian NBA players, Dillon Brooks, Kelly Olynyk, Dwight Powell and Nickeil Alexander-Walker.
After the first and the second quarters, the game tied on 50-50.
During the third quarter, Canada got back their feeling and scored 1-9. Building up the wider gap between Slovenia.
Although Slovenia started to recover physically, they only lost 2 points.
Unfortunately, they didn’t perform well in the fourth quarter and ended up 11 points and lost the opportunity to enter the semifinals.
There were 4 players from the Canadian team who scored in double-doubles.
Even though Luka Dončić scored 4 rebounds 5 assists 26 points, the bench players didn’t have enough experience and the physical issue. Canada could easily beat Slovenia.
